Wishing you a smelly Christmas

This year the Sense Scotland Christmas mailing has been designed to be a little bit different. Taking advice from the UK’s top fundraisers the donor appeal letter is personally written by a real Mum with pictures and stories designed and printed in colour.
As well as this, each letter is accompanied by a scented Christmas bauble that smells reassuringly of Christmas. The recipient is given the opportunity to return the bauble with a gift, having written the details of their favourite scent on the back. The returned baubles will be hung on the Christmas tree at the Sense Scotland centre in Glasgow.
The more personal nature of the communication and the scented baubles, which tie in nicely with the charities purpose, should make for a bigger response this year. The cost of the mailing is higher, but this has been greatly reduced by The Marketing Café who designed and prepared the artwork without charge.
Sense Scotland has been working for over 20 years with children and adults who have communication support needs because of deafblindness, sensory impairment, learning and physical disabilities. One of their key areas of expertise is communication. Working closely with people, often on a one-to-one basis, Sense Scotland aim to find out what their aspirations are and how they want to live their lives.
