TMC sponsor the CF Trust Sixty Five Roses Ball

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Working closely with the CF Trust, TMC have enjoyed every moment of designing the invites and programmes for the Sixty Five Roses Ball and hope that the evening will reap huge rewards for what is a very worthwhile cause.

We were introduced to the term ‘sixty five roses’ five years ago when we learned that the expression first originated in Australia when a child was asked to say cystic fibrosis and the response sounded more like ‘sixty five roses’. Touched by this and the effect the condition has on so many young lives, we were delighted to help in whatever way we could.

Cystic fibrosis is a very serious, life threatening condition, which in the past resulted in the early death of many young children. Research has improved treatment significantly and has helped increase the life expectancy of CF sufferers, although sadly, there is still no cure for the condition.

The CF Trust is currently conducting the largest gene therapy trial ever conducted in the hope that we will move one step closer to a cure. The product for these multi-dose trials will cost around £6 million so every penny we raise for the trust will help us achieve our goal.
